Raymond H.G.  Titus

The death of Raymond Herbert George Titus, husband of the late Jean Elizabeth Titus, occurred on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on September 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Herbert Allison and Margaret Mary (Gibbs) Titus.

Ray retired from CP Rail in 1986 after 42 years as an engineering technologist. He was an elder at Portland United Church and organized communion for many years. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family at his cottage on the Belleisle that he built with his father in 1948.

Ray is survived by his daughter Susan (Paul) Martin of Hampton, NB; two grandchildren, Sarah (Brent Peiser) of Hampton and Craig (Erin Boyd) of St. John’s, NL; brothers in law, Walter (Marjorie) Kingston and Norman McFarlane; sisters in law, Nancy (Leon) Evans, Faith Kingston and Lois Kingston, all of Saint John; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers in law John, Ken (Connie), Malcolm and Reginald; sisters in law Helen (Wilfred) Turner, Elsie Kingston, Phyllis (Raymond "Buzz") Kane and Cynthia McFarlane.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Ray may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
