June Vinola Clayton Billingsley
1925-2010
The passing of June Billingsley, wife of the late Merlin Billingsley,
occurred at the Loch Lomand Villa on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. June
was born on July 1, 1925 in Florida, US to the late Roy and Grace
(Erb) Clayton. She was a veteran of World War II serving with the
Canadian Women’s Army Corps. June was devoted to her family, her
whole life. She always put their needs before her own. In her spare
time, June loved tap dancing.
June is survived by one son, Terry Billingsley (Joanna) of Chance Harbour; two daughters, Judith Henry (Eric) of Saint John and Sharon Carver (Errol) of Florida, US; one brother, Roy Clayton of Saint John; six grandchildren: Tammy Robichaud (Louis), Derrick Henri (Jackie) and Carla Wetmore (Steve), Derek (Naomi), Roy (Jen) and Shane Billingsley (Lynda); nine great grandchildren: Eric, Jessica, Bryan, Nick, Gavin, Cameron, Haven, Emma, Claire and Jillian.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, January 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
