Irene Marilyn Sheffroth
1940-2010
After a lengthy illness Irene (Black) Sheffroth of Saint John, NB, passed away on July 19, 2010 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Sheffroth. Born in Saint John on April 10, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Marion Leblanc Black.
Irene loved to cook. She retired from the Salvation Army as the cook. Irene would spend many hours volunteering in her community. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her two children, Gordon (Karla) of Oromocto and Kelly (Bill) of Saint John; four grandchildren, Jeremy and Jessica Pelletier and Eden and Nic Sheffroth; one sister, Olive Spragg of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; her mother Marion Black and one sister, Doreen Kingston.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday, from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
