Ernest Raymond Leonard
1920-2012
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ernest Raymond Leonard, which occurred on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Shannex Nursing Home. Born on August 27, 1920 in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Edwin and Rebecca Jane (Saunders) Leonard.
Ernest worked for the Telephone Company for 12 years and retired from Canada Post with 20 years of service as a clerk.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Ernest was the last surviving member of his immediate family; he was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred and Annie; one brother, Edwin; and a niece, Donna.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11:00 am from Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
