1931-2012

G. Blanche Clayton

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, G. Blanche Clayton at the age of 80 on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 13, 1931 in Saint John to the late Mary Ann and John A. (Sandy) MacDonald, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of R.C.L. #02, a member of Fundy L.O.B.A. 1190 and a member of the Glades of the R.A.O.B. order. Always an avid dart player, she played for the Ladies City and District League and Ladies Uptown League. Up to the end of her game, mom also enjoyed Bingo until the disease took it away from her.

She is survived by sons: Jack, Rick, Gary and Ron (Shelly); daughters: Nancy Campbell (Lyle), Donalda Gillis and Heather Clarke (Brian); daughter-in-law Joanne Clayton; 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; sisters: Anne Rodgers, Margot Vey, Sheila Mahar, Kathy Mahoney and Edna McCutcheon, and brothers Bob MacDonald (Lois) and Fred MacDonald (Becky). She was predeceased by her parents; son, Tim; granddaughter, Carla; sister, Marion and brothers: Jim, Jack, Teddy and Freddy. 

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mosher Hill Cemetery, St. Martins, NB.
