Muriel Rachel Galbraith

1919-2012

Galbraith Muriel Rachel- passed away June 25, 2012 at Carlton-Kirk Lodge, Saint John West.  Born on August 28, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Neil and Margaret (Matheson) Ferguson.

She was employed with New Brunswick Protestant Orphanage, and many children called her mom.  In her later career she worked at the compensation board in Grand Bay-Westfield.

Muriel was a member of the South Bay United U.C.W. and volunteered with the Christmas exchange.  She enjoyed knitting and cooking, and would donate her knitted outfits to premature babies at the hospital. One could say she made the best apple pie.  She enjoyed trailering at the TNT Camp Ground.  Muriel enjoyed spending time her grandchildren.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are her children, Neil Galbraith (Tracey), Musquash; Margaret Lewis, Wyoming; grandchildren, Donald, Amy and Liam; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; sisters, Margaret, Mary and Jessie; brothers, Donald and Agnes.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation, and a private graveside service will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.  For those who wish, remembrances to the S.P.C.A or  any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.   Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
