Roy James Murphy
1922-2012
Roy Murphy, husband of the late Carmel (Perry) Murphy went to
be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Ridgewood
Veterans Wing. He was born on April 30, 1922 in Kenogami, Quebec to
the late Russell and Florence (Paugh) Murphy. Roy worked with Acme
Construction (17 years), and the Barrich Green Armories Office Mess,
Bar Steward (20 years). He was a member of the Royal Army Service
Corp, Charlotte Street Seniors Centre and the Royal Canadian
Legion.
He is survived by his son, David Perry (Marie) of Saint John;
daughter, Gloria Babcock (Karl) of Campbell River, BC; brother, Ernest
(Anne) of Summerside, PE; sister, June Crossman (Kenneth) of Moncton;
three grandchildren: Kimberly, John David and Janalyn Noel; nieces:
Janice Hardy, Ronda Allen and Lois Crossman; nephews: Randy Smith
(Jackie), Alvin Murphy (Margaret), Philip Crossman (Sydonyia) and
Allan Fleiger (Lois); sister-in-law, Dona Atcheson; special friend,
Phyllis Gautreau and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his
wife, parents; son, Richard Perry; longtime friend, Alice Ferris;
sister, Doris Smith; brother-in-law, Wally Smith and sister-in-law,
Connie Fleiger.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral
Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with
visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion
Tribute Service will be held on Sunday at 7:00 pm during visiting. The
Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Monday, July 9,
2012 at 12 noon. A Interment will take place in St.
Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
