Florence Lillian Forbes
1923-2012
It is with great sadness that the family announces the
passing of Florence Lillian (Smith) Forbes, on Friday, July 13, 2012
at the Saint John Regional Hospital, wife of the late Stanley Gordon
Forbes. Born in Saint John on April 22, 1923 she was a daughter of
the late Mayes Case and Charlotte Lillian (Vincent)
Smith.
Florence loved to spend time with her family, especially her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.
Florence worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia for many
years.
Florence is survived by her children, Susan Marie Dole of
Quispamsis; Gordon Stewart Forbes of Calgary AB and Nancy Olive
Forbes-Kerrigan (John Kerrigan) of Saint John; five grandchildren,
Eric Gordon Vaughan (Kathryn), Jonathan Seth Vaughan (Aleisha),
Margaret Nancy Dole (Sean Wheeler), Elizabeth Anne Kerrigan (Steven
Hall) and Veronica Rose Kerrigan; four great-grandchildren, Stanley
Gordon Vaughan, Lillian Grace Vaughan, Olivia Marie Grant and Seth
Robert Allan Vaughan; two brothers, Stewart Smith of Saint John and
Roy Thompson (Lois) of Moncton; one sister, Olive Bryden (Fred) of
Douglas Harbour; several nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased
by her parents, husband and three brothers, Rev. Lloyd Smith, Ronald
Smith and Arnold Smith.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise
Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday,
July 18, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held from
Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at
12:00 noon. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In Lieu of
flowers, remembrances to Camp Rotary, Brigadoon Children’s
Camp or any charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family.
