Although we make this announcement with heavy hearts, we are
comforted in knowing that she is with God and her loved ones that
passed on before her. Betty "Huck" Boyce, wife of Thomas
"Tom" Boyce, passed away at her residence in St. John
& St. Stephen Nursing Home, with her family by her side, on
Saturday, July 14, 2012. Born May 30, 1931, she was a daughter of the
late James and Mabel (Bennett) LeClair. Betty was an avid sports fan
who bowled and played basketball, badminton, and softball, with her
"Red Sox" team winning the title of Maritime Champions. She
was very involved as a past president for St. Peter’s Church
CWL, and also spent many hours volunteering with the North End Food
Bank and North End Community Centre. She had a love of reading,
shopping, time with family, and she and Tom enjoyed traveling many
places together. Betty’s generous spirit will be missed by
all who knew her.
Besides her beloved husband, Betty is survived by her
children: Michael (Maureen), Susan Seely (Gregory), Patty Rasch
(Stephen), and Mark (Tabatha); grandchildren: Jason, Tom, Kevin,
Stephanie, Kristen, Jessica, Kyle, Jeremy, Rebecca, Kailey, Richard,
Laurissa, and Joshua; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen
McCluskey (Brad) and Irene Pye; sisters-in-law, Elsie, Pearl, and
Mary; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her brothers: James "Deacon", Jack
"Huck", Robert "Bob", and Michael
"Mickey"; and brother-in-law, Art Pye.

Tom, Susan, Mike, Patty, Mark and all of the family, I will guard forever in my heart the million happy memories that Betty helped to create. Whether it was laughs on the way to Monday night bingo, summer days spent at the beach, playing ball in the field, waiting to see what Betty brought back from her trips to Maine (especially the sparklers), or just the day to day love she gave us all, she will never be forgotten. A light went out in Chapel Grove this weekend but I'm sure a star shines a little brighter in the sky as she watches over us all from Heaven. Much love to you all. Thanks Betty, you were one of a kind! - Lisa
