F. Kenneth Sabean

1928-2012

Floyd "Kenneth" Sabean of Saint John passed away on Thursday, August 09, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in Saint John on April 3, 1928, he was a son of the late Kenneth Sabean and the late Madeline Sabean-Dernier.  Ken was employed for several years as a heavy equipment mechanic at the MacMillan Rothesay Paper Mill.  He enjoyed sailing and loved to read, and followed sports and politics.

Ken is survived by his children, Randy Sabean (Terry) of Orleans, ON, Debbie Sabean of Saint John, Carol Lynch of Saint John, Gail Carter (Terry) of Hampton, Katherine Sabean Rodgers of Saint John, and Carl Sabean of Grand Bay-Westfield; sisters Joan McQuoid of Brampton, ON, and Diane Barr (Roy) of Alberta; a brother Jeff Dernier of Brampton, ON; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Ken was predeceased by a son, Alan Sabean; a brother, Carl Sabean; and a sister, Pearl Daigle Betts.

In keeping with Ken’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.  For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).  Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.

I'm sorry about your father, Ken, I only met him a few times. I was a close friend of Alan growing up in the neighbourhood,we worked in Flin Flon Manitoba together and travelled to California twice together. We worked out at the gyms together for years, I still miss him today , Alan was a good guy, my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family, God bless, Mike Morin.
