It is with great sadness that the family announces the
passing of Mary Laura Donovan, which occurred on Thursday, August 16,
2012 at Kings Way Care Centre with her loving family at her side. Born
in Saint John on December 17, 1929, she was a daughter of the late
Emile and Albina (Christie) Vautour.
Laura worked at the DVA Hospital, the General Hospital and
retired in 1991 from the Saint John Regional Hospital as a ward
clerk. She was a lifelong resident of Saint John.
She is survived by her children, Stephen, Sean, Shane,
Timothy (Mary), Paul, Tony, Darren (Laura Lee), Darryll, Roberta
(Bruce) Crilley, Cathy Smith, Tina (Kenneth) Donovan and Iris (Greg)
Lenihan; thirty-three grandchildren; several great-grandchild; one
sister Evelyn Peterson; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to all of the
staff at Kings Way Care Centre, for the loving care and compassion she
received while she was in their care.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of
Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row,
Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Laura’s wishes
there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. For those who
wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated
by the family.

We are so pleased that we were able to care for Laura at Kings Way Care Centre during the last few months of her life. She was loved by all of us. Knowing her love for music, we always made sure to get her into the church services and hymn sings.
