Obituary of Amy Lee Gautreau

With broken hearts, the family of Amy Lee (Leighton) Gautreau of Saint John announce her passing on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Born in St. Stephen, NB, on January 10, 1977, she was a daughter of Linda (Daigle) Leger and the late Robert Leighton.

Amy was the kind of girl who didn’t let you leave her without getting a hug. She loved animals, especially her cat, Hunter, and her family, and was very giving and outgoing. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her loving mother, Linda, Amy is survived by her nephew, Jesse Gallant (Amber); great-niece and great-nephew, Chase and Sierra Gallant; uncles, Robert Daigle (Debbie) and Allan Daigle (Heather); aunt, Theresa Stewart (Doug); cousins: Lori, Angie, Dougie, Randy, Bobby Joe, Peter, Tammi, and Theresa, and their families; her boyfriend, Michael; and good friends: Sharon (Whitey), Shelby, Lori, and Brenda (Mark).

Besides her father, Amy was predeceased by her sister, Tina Leighton; grandparents, Ralph and Hilda Daigle; uncle, Ronnie Dempsey; cousin, Allan Stewart; and her fur baby, Puss Puss who recently predeceased her.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Family and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Brenan’s Chapel at 3 pm. Those unable to attend the service are able to view a Livestream of the funeral by clicking on “View Livestream” on Amy’s obituary. For those who wish, remembrances to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
